biography

Lisa Selby was born in London, in July 1977. She lives and works in London.
Lisa Selby is concerned with the relationship between the unfinished ceramic/furniture/decorative items, and something very processed and various stages throughout. This is about not stepping too close to a finished item, nor is about a reproduction of an original. Letting go of a materials permanency and recognised form encourages an engagement away from these objects’ usual commercial commodity values, familiar identity and ostentatious attributes.
