Rebecca Ackroyd was born in Cheltenham in 1987. She attended Gloucestershire University for a Foundation Diploma and then studied a Fine Art Degree at Byam Shaw School of Art. She currently lives and works in London.
Ackroyd’s work predominantly focuses on the relationship between drawing and sculpture, attempting to introduce drawing into a sculptural domain and vice versa. The work blurs the distinction between both practices, creating a dynamic way of working without material limitations.
