Soheila Sokhanvari is an Iranian born multimedia artist, she incorporates found objects into rich and bizarre narratives that question the magic of realism and the converse. She came to England in 1978 as a child to study and obtained her first degree in science. Sokhanvari completed a postgraduate diploma in Fine Art at Chelsea College of Art & Design, London before attending Goldsmiths College, University of London, where she was awarded an MFA. Traditionally trained in the art of Persian Miniature her work is informed by her heritage of Persian poetry and narrative inspired by magical imagery of “one Thousand and One Arabian Nights”.
